Nehemiah 7
Νεεμίας
1 ΚΑΙ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ᾠκοδομήθη τὸ τεῖχος, καὶ ἔστησα τάς θύρας, καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν οἱ πυλωροὶ καὶ οἱ ἄδοντες καὶ οἱ Λευῖται.
And it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
2 καὶ ἐνετειλάμην τῷ Ἀνανίᾳ ἀδελφῷ μου καὶ τῷ Ἀνανίᾳ ἄρχοντι τῆς βιρὰ ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ, ὅτι αὐτὸς ὡς ἀνὴρ ἀληθὴς καὶ φοβούμενος τὸν Θεὸν παρὰ πολλούς,
that I gave charge to Ananias my brother, and Ananias the ruler of the palace, over Jerusalem: for he was a true man, and one that feared God beyond many.
3 καὶ εἶπα αὐτοῖς· οὐκ ἀνοιγήσονται πύλαι Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἕως ἅμα τῷ ἡλίῳ, καὶ ἔτι αὐτῶν γρηγορούντων κλειέσθωσαν αἱ θύραι καὶ σφηνούσθωσαν· καὶ στῆσον προφύλακας οἰκούντων ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ, ἀνὴρ ἐν προφυλακῇ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνὴρ ἀπέναντι οἰκίας αὐτοῦ.
And I said to them, The gates of Jerusalem shall not be opened till sunrise; and while they are still watching, let the doors be shut, and bolted; and set watches of them that dwell in Jerusalem, [every] man at his post, and [every] man over against his house.
4 Καὶ ἡ πόλις πλατεῖα καὶ μεγάλη, καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὀλίγος ἐν αὐτῇ, καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν οἰκίαι ᾠκοδομημέναι.
Now the city [was] wide and large; and the people [were] few in it, and the houses were not built.
5 καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ Θεὸς εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου καὶ συνῆξα τοὺς ἐντίμους καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας καὶ τὸν λαὸν εἰς συνοδίας· καὶ εὗρον βιβλίον τῆς συνοδίας, οἳ ἀνέβησαν ἐν πρώτοις, καὶ εὗρον γεγραμμένον ἐν αὐτῷ.
And God put [it] into my heart, and I gathered the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, into companies: and I found a register of the company that came up first, and I found written in it as follows:
6 καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ τῆς χώρας οἱ ἀναβάντες ἀπὸ αἰχμαλωσίας τῆς ἀποικίας, ἧς ἀπῴκισε Ναβουχοδονόσορ ὁ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ εἰς Ἰούδα ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ
Now these [are] the children of the country, that came up from captivity, of the number which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon carried away, and they returned to Jerusalem and to Juda, [every] man to his city;
7 μετὰ Ζοροβάβελ καὶ Ἰησοῦ καὶ Νεεμία Ἀζαρία καὶ Ρεελμὰ Ναεμανί, Μαρδοχαῖος, Βαλσάν, Μασφαράθ, Ἔσδρα, Βογουΐα, Ἰναούμ, Βαανά, Μασφάρ, ἄνδρες λαοῦ Ἰσραήλ·
with Zorobabel, and Jesus, and Neemia, Azaria, and Reelma, Naemani, Mardochaeus, Balsan, Maspharath, Esdra, Boguia, Inaum, Baana, Masphar, men of the people of Israel.
8 υἱοὶ Φόρος δισχίλιοι ἑκατὸν ἑβδομηκονταδύο·
The children of Phoros, two thousand and one hundred and seventy-two.
9 υἱοὶ Σαφατία τριακόσιοι ἑβδομηκονταδύο·
The children of Saphatia, three hundred and seventy-two.
10 υἱοὶ Ἠρὰ ἑξακόσιοι πεντηκονταδύο·
The children of Era, six hundred and fifty-two.
11 υἱοὶ Φαὰθ Μωὰβ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰησοῦ καὶ Ἰωὰβ δισχίλιοι ἑξακόσιοι δεκαοκτώ·
The children of Phaath Moab, with the children of Jesus and Joab, two thousand and six hundred and eighteen.
12 υἱοὶ Αἰλὰμ χίλιοι διακόσιοι πεντηκοντατέσσαρες·
The children of Aelam, a thousand and two hundred and fifty-four.
13 υἱοὶ Ζαθουΐα ὀκτακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταπέντε·
The children of Zathuia, eight hundred and forty-five.
14 υἱοὶ Ζακχοῦ ἑπτακόσιοι ἑξήκοντα·
The children of Zacchu, seven hundred and sixty.
15 υἱοὶ Βανουΐ ἑξακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταοκτώ·
The children of Banui, six hundred and forty-eight.
16 υἱοὶ Βηβὶ ἑξακόσιοι εἰκοσιοκτώ·
The children of Bebi, six hundred and twenty-eight.
17 υἱοὶ Ἀσγὰδ δισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι εἰκοσιδύο·
The children of Asgad, two thousand and three hundred and twenty-two.
18 υἱοὶ Ἀδωνικὰμ ἑξακόσιοι ἑξηκονταεπτά·
The children of Adonicam, six hundred and sixty-seven.
19 υἱοὶ Βαγοΐ δισχίλιοι ἑξηκονταεπτά·
The children of Bagoi, two thousand and sixty-seven.
20 υἱοὶ Ἠδὶν ἑξακόσιοι πεντηκονταπέντε·
The children of Edin, six hundred and fifty-five.
21 υἱοὶ Ἀτὴρ τῷ Ἐζεκίᾳ ἐνενηκονταοκτώ·
The children of Ater, [the son] of Ezekias, ninety-eight.
22 υἱοὶ Ἠσὰμ τριακόσιοι εἰκοσιοκτώ·
The children of Esam, three hundred and twenty-eight.
23 υἱοὶ Βεσεΐ τριακόσιοι εἰκοσιτέσσαρες·

25 υἱοὶ Γαβαὼν ἐνενηκονταπέντε·
The children of Gabaon, ninety-five.
26 υἱοὶ Βαιθαλὲμ ἑκατὸν εἰκοσιτρεῖς· υἱοὶ Ἀτωφὰ πεντηκονταέξ·
The children of Baethalem, one hundred and twenty-three: the children of Atopha, fifty-six.
27 υἱοὶ Ἀναθὼθ ἑκατὸν εἰκοσιοκτώ·
The children of Anathoth, one hundred and twenty-eight.
28 ἄνδρες Βηθασμὼθ τεσσαρακονταδύο·
The men of Bethasmoth, forty-two.
29 ἄνδρες Καριαθαρίμ, Καφιρὰ καὶ Βηρὼθ ἑπτακόσιοι τεσσαρακοντατρεῖς·
The men of Cariatharim, Caphira, and Beroth, seven hundred and forty-three.
30 ἄνδρες Ἀραμὰ καὶ Γαβαὰ ἑξακόσιοι εἴκοσιν·
The men of Arama and Gabaa, six hundred and twenty.
31 ἄνδρες Μαχεμὰς ἑκατὸν εἰκοσιδύο·
The men of Machemas, one hundred and twenty-two.
32 ἄνδρες Βαιθὴλ καὶ Ἀΐ ἑκατὸν εἰκοσιτρεῖς·
The men of Baethel and Ai, one hundred and twenty-three.
33 ἄνδρες Ναβία ἑκατὸν πεντηκονταδύο·
The men of Nabia, one hundred an fifty-two.
34 ἄνδρες Ἠλαμαὰρ χίλιοι διακόσιοι πεντηκονταδύο·
The men of Elamaar, one thousand and two hundred and fifty-two.
35 υἱοὶ Ἠρὰμ τριακόσιοι εἴκοσι·
The children of Eram, three hundred and twenty.
36 υἱοὶ Ἰεριχὼ τριακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταπέντε·
The children of Jericho, three hundred and forty-five.
37 υἱοὶ Λοδαδὶδ καὶ Ὠνὼ ἑπτακόσιοι εἰκοσιεῖς·
The children of Lodadid and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-one.
38 υἱοὶ Σανανὰ τρισχίλιοι ἐνακόσιοι τριάκοντα·
The children of Sanana, three thousand and nine hundred and thirty.
39 οἱ ἱερεῖς, υἱοὶ Ἰωδαὲ εἰς οἶκον Ἰησοῦ ἐνακόσιοι ἑβδομηκοντατρεῖς·
The priests; the sons of Jodae, [pertaining] to the house of Jesus, nine hundred and seventy-three.
40 υἱοὶ Ἐμμὴρ χίλιοι πεντηκονταδύο·
The children of Emmer, one thousand and fifty-two.
41 υἱοὶ Φασεοὺρ χίλιοι διακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταεπτά·
The children of Phaseur, one thousand and two hundred and forty-seven.
42 υἱοὶ Ἠρὰμ χίλιοι δεκαεπτά·
The children of Eram, a thousand and seventeen.
43 οἱ Λευῖται, υἱοὶ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ Καδμιὴλ τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ Οὐδουΐα ἑβδομηκοντατέσσαρες·
The Levites; the children of Jesus the son of Cadmiel, with the children of Uduia, seventy-four.
44 οἱ ἄδοντες, υἱοὶ Ἀσὰφ ἑκατὸν τεσσαρακονταοκτώ·
The singers; the children of Asaph, one hundred and forty-eight.
45 οἱ πυλωροί, υἱοὶ Σαλούμ, υἱοὶ Ἀτήρ, υἱοὶ Τελμών, υἱοὶ Ἀκούβ, υἱοὶ Ἀτιτά, υἱοὶ Σαβί, ἑκατὸν τριακονταοκτώ·
The porters; the children of Salum, the children of Ater, the children of Telmon, the children of Acub, the children of Atita, the children of Sabi, one hundred and thirty-eight.
46 οἱναθινίμ, υἱοὶ Σηά, υἱοὶ Ἀσφά, υἱοὶ Ταβαώθ,
The Nathinim; the children of Sea, the children of Aspha, the children of Tabaoth,
47 υἱοὶ Κιράς, υἱοὶ Ἀσουΐα, υἱοὶ Φαδών,
the children of Kiras, the children of Asuia, the children of Phadon,
48 υἱοὶ Λαβανά, υἱοὶ Ἀγαβά, υἱοὶ Σελμεΐ,
the children of Labana, the children of Agaba, the children of Selmei,
49 υἱοὶ Ἀνάν, υἱοὶ Γαδήλ, υἱοὶ Γαάρ,

the children of Basaloth, the children of Mida, the children of Adasan,

The children of the servants of Solomon; the children of Sutei, the children of Sapharat, the children of Pherida,

the children of Jelel, the children of Dorcon, the children of Gadael,
59 υἱοὶ Σαφατία, υἱοὶ Ἐττήλ, υἱοὶ Φακαράθ, υἱοὶ Σαβαΐμ, υἱοὶ Ἠμίμ·
the children of Saphatia, the children of Ettel, the children of Phacarath, the children of Sabaim, the children of Emim.
60 πάντες οἱ ναθινίμ, καὶ υἱοὶ δούλων Σαλωμών, τριακόσιοι ἐνενηκονταδύο.
All the Nathinim, and children of the servants of Solomon, [were] three hundred and ninety-two.
61 καὶ οὗτοι ἀνέβησαν ἀπὸ Θελμελέθ, Θελαρησά, Χαρούβ, Ἠρών, Ἰεμὴρ καὶ οὐκ ἐδυνάσθησαν ἀπαγγεῖλαι οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν καὶ σπέρμα αὐτῶν εἰ ἀπὸ Ἰσραήλ εἰσιν·
And these went up from Thelmeleth, Thelaresa, Charub, Eron, Jemer: but they could not declare the houses of their families, or their seed, whether they were of Israel.
62 υἱοὶ Δαλαία, υἱοὶ Τωβία, υἱοὶ Νεκωδά, ἑξακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταδύο·
The children of Dalaia, the children of Tobia, the children of Necoda, six hundred and forty-two.
63 καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἱερέων υἱοὶ Ἐβία, υἱοὶ Ἀκώς, υἱοὶ Βερζελλί, ὅτι ἔλαβον ἀπὸ θυγατέρων Βερζελλὶ τοῦ Γαλααδίτου γυναῖκας καὶ ἐκλήθησαν ἐπ' ὀνόματι αὐτῶν·
And of the priests; the children of Ebia, the children of Acos, the children of Berzelli, for they took wives of the daughters of Berzelli the Galaadite, and they were called by their name.
64 οὗτοι ἐζήτησαν γραφὴν αὐτῶν τῆς συνοδίας, καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθη, καὶ ἠγχιστεύθησαν ἀπὸ τῆς ἱερατείας,
These sought the pedigree of their company, and it was not found, and they were removed [as polluted] from the priesthood.
65 καὶ εἶπεν Ἀθερσασθά, ἵνα μὴ φάγωσιν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἁγίου τῶν ἁγίων, ἕως ἀναστῇ ἱερεὺς φωτίσων.
And the Athersastha said, that they should not eat of the most holy things, until a priest should stand up to give light.
66 καὶ ἐγένετο πᾶσα ἡ ἐκκλησία ὡσεὶ τέσσαρες μυριάδες δισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι ἑξήκοντα,
And all the congregation was about forty-two thousand and three hundred and sixty,
67 πάρεξ δούλων αὐτῶν καὶ παιδισκῶν αὐτῶν, οὗτοι ἑπτακισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι τριακονταεπτά· καὶ ᾄδοντες καὶ ᾄδουσαι διακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταπέντε·
besides their menservants and their maidservants: these were seven thousand and three hundred and thirty seven: and the singing-men and singing-women, two hundred and forty-five.
69 ὄνοι δισχίλιοι ἑπτακόσιοι.
Two thousand and seven hundred asses.
70 καὶ ἀπὸ μέρους ἀρχηγῶν τῶν πατριῶν ἔδωκαν εἰς τὸ ἔργον τῷ Νεεμίᾳ εἰς θησαυρὸν χρυσοῦς χιλίους, φιάλας πεντήκοντα καὶ χωθωνὼθ τῶν ἱερέων τριάκοντα.
And part of the heads of families gave into the treasury to Neemias for the work a thousand pieces of gold, fifty bowls, and thirty priests' [garments].
71 καὶ ἀπὸ ἀρχηγῶν τῶν πατριῶν ἔδωκαν εἰς θησαυροὺς τοῦ ἔργου χρυσοῦ νομίσματος δύο μυριάδας καὶ ἀργυρίου μνᾶς δισχιλίας τριακοσίας, καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ κατάλοιποι τοῦ λαοῦ χρυσίου δύο μυριάδας καὶ ἀργυρίου μνᾶς δισχιλίας διακοσίας καὶ χωθωνὼθ τῶν ἱερέων ἑξηκονταεπτά.
And [some] of the heads of families gave into the treasuries of the work, twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand and three hundred pounds of silver. And the rest of the people gave twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests' [garments]. (verse 7:71-72 in Brenton's English)
72 καί ἐκάθισαν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ Λευῖται καὶ οἱ πυλωροὶ καὶ οἱ ᾄδοντες καὶ οἱ ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ οἱ ναθινὶμ καὶ πᾶς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν πόλεσιν αὐτῶν.
