The Bible Psalms Psalm 46

Psalm 46

Psalm 47 in the Hebrew numbering, which most Western Bibles follow.

(47) For the end, a Psalm for the sons of Core. Clap your hands, all you⌃ nations; shout to God with a voice of exultation.

In the English, this verse is part of verse 1.

For the Lord most high is terrible; [he is] a great king over all the earth. (verse 2 in Brenton's English)

He has subdued the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet. (verse 3 in Brenton's English)

He has chosen out his inheritance for us, the beauty of Jacob which he loved. Pause. (verse 4 in Brenton's English)

God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with a sound of a trumpet. (verse 5 in Brenton's English)

Sing praises to our God, sing praises: sing praises to our King, sing praises. (verse 6 in Brenton's English)

For God is king of all the earth: sing praises with understanding. (verse 7 in Brenton's English)

God reigns over the nations: God sits upon the throne of his holiness. (verse 8 in Brenton's English)

The rulers of the people are assembled with the God of Abraam: for God's mighty ones of the earth have been greatly exalted. (verse 9 in Brenton's English)
