Psalm 53
Psalm 54 in the Hebrew numbering, which most Western Bibles follow.
(54) For the end, amongst Hymns of instruction by David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Behold, is not David hid with us? Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me by your might.
2 ἐν τῷ ἐλθεῖν τοὺς Ζιφαίους καὶ εἰπεῖν τῷ Σαούλ· οὐκ ἰδοὺ Δαυΐδ κέκρυπται παρ᾿ ἡμῖν;
In the English, this verse is part of verse 1.
Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy might. (Brenton's own wording of 1851; the updated edition leaves this verse out)
O God, hear my prayer; listen to the words of my mouth. (verse 2 in Brenton's English)
For strangers have risen up against me, and mighty men have sought my life: they have not set God before them. Pause. For behold! God assists me; and the Lord is the helper of my soul. (verse 53:3-4 in Brenton's English)
He shall return evil to my enemies; utterly destroy them in your truth. (verse 5 in Brenton's English)
I will willingly sacrifice to you: I will give thanks to your name, O Lord; for [it is] good. (verse 6 in Brenton's English)
For you have delivered me out of all affliction, and my eye has seen [my desire] upon my enemies. (verse 7 in Brenton's English)
