Psalm 6
Psalm 6 in the Hebrew numbering, which most Western Bibles follow.
For the End, a Psalm of David amongst the Hymns for the eighth. O Lord, rebuke me not in your wrath, neither chasten me in your anger.
In the English, this verse is part of verse 1.
Pity me, O Lord; for I am weak: heal me, O Lord; for my bones are vexed. (verse 2 in Brenton's English)
4 καὶ ἡ ψυχή μου ἐταράχθη σφόδρα· καὶ σύ, Κύριε, ἕως πότε;
My soul also is grievously vexed: but you, O Lord, how long? (verse 3 in Brenton's English)
Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: save me for your mercy's sake. (verse 4 in Brenton's English)
6 ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν τῷ θανάτῳ ὁ μνημονεύων σου· ἐν δὲ τῷ ¨„δῃ τίς ἐξομολογήσεταί σοι;
For in death no man remembers you: and who will give you thanks in Hades? (verse 5 in Brenton's English)
I am wearied with my groaning; I shall wash my bed every night; I shall water my couch with tears. (verse 6 in Brenton's English)
My eye is troubled because of my wrath; I am worn out because of all my enemies. (verse 7 in Brenton's English)
Depart from me, all you⌃ that work iniquity; for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. (verse 8 in Brenton's English)
The Lord has listened to my petition; the Lord has accepted my prayer. (verse 9 in Brenton's English)
Let all my enemies be put to shame and sore troubled: let them be turned back and grievously put to shame speedily. (verse 10 in Brenton's English)
