The Bible Psalms Psalm 60

Psalm 60

Psalm 61 in the Hebrew numbering, which most Western Bibles follow.

(61) For the end, amongst the Hymns of David. O God, listen to my petition; attend to my prayer.

In the English, this verse is part of verse 1.

From the ends of the earth have I cried to you, when my heart was in trouble: you lifted me up on a rock you did guide me: (verse 2 in Brenton's English)

because you were my hope, a tower of strength from the face of the enemy. (verse 3 in Brenton's English)

I will dwell in your tabernacle for ever; I will shelter myself under the shadow of your wings. Pause. (verse 4 in Brenton's English)

For you, o God, have heard my prayers; you have given an inheritance to them that fear your name. (verse 5 in Brenton's English)

You shall add days to the days of the king; [you shall lengthen] his years to all generations. (verse 6 in Brenton's English)

8 διαμενεῖ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐνώπιον τοῦ Θεοῦ· ἔλεος καὶ ἀλήθειαν αὐτοῦ τίς ἐκζητήσει;

He shall endure for ever before God: which of them will seek out his mercy and truth? (verse 7 in Brenton's English)

So will I sing to your name for ever and ever, that I may daily perform my vows. (verse 8 in Brenton's English)
