Canon 48 A layman who puts away his wife and remarries

Ἱεροὶ Κανόνες τῶν Ἁγίων καὶ Πανσέπτων Ἀποστόλων

If any layman, having put away his own wife, takes another, or one released by another, let him be excommunicated.

Εἴ τις λαϊκὸς τὴν ἑαυτοῦ γυναῖκα ἐκβαλὼν ἑτέραν λάβοι, ἢ παρ᾿ ἄλλου ἀπολελυμένην, ἀφοριζέσθω.
