Joshua 15

Ἰησοῦς Ναυῆ

1 ΚΑΙ ἐγένετο τὰ ὅρια φυλῆς Ἰούδα κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων τῆς Ἰδουμαίας ἀπὸ τῆς ἐρήμου Σὶν ἕως Κάδης πρὸς λίβα.

And the borders of the tribe of Juda according to their families were from the borders of Idumea from the wilderness of sin, as far as Cades southward.

2 καὶ ἐγενήθη αὐτῶν τὰ ὅρια ἀπὸ λιβὸς ἕως μέρους θαλάσσης τῆς ἁλυκῆς, ἀπὸ τῆς λοφιᾶς τῆς φερούσης ἐπὶ λίβα

And their borders were from the south as far as a part of the salt sea from the high country that extends southward.

3 καὶ διαπορεύεται ἀπέναντι τῆς προσαναβάσεως Ἀκραβὶν καὶ ἐκπεριπορεύεται Σενὰ καὶ ἀναβαίνει ἀπὸ λιβὸς ἐπὶ Κάδης Βαρνὴ καὶ ἐκπορεύεται Ἀσωρὼν καὶ προσαναβαίνει εἰς Σάραδα καὶ ἐκπορεύεται τὴν κατὰ δυσμὰς Κάδης

And they proceed before the ascent of Acrabin, and go out round Sena, and go up from the south to Cades Barne; and go out to Asoron, and proceed up to Sarada, and go out by the way that is west of Cades.

4 καὶ ἐκπορεύεται ἐπὶ Σελμωνὰν καὶ διεκβάλλει ἕως φάραγγος Αἰγύπτου, καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν· τοῦτό ἐστιν αὐτῶν ὅρια ἀπὸ λιβός.

And they go out to Selmona, and issue at the valley of Egypt; and the termination of its boundaries shall be at the sea: these are their boundaries southward.

5 καὶ τὰ ὅρια ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν· πᾶσα ἡ θάλασσα ἡ ἁλυκὴ ἕως τοῦ Ἰορδάνου. καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς λοφιᾶς τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ μέρους τοῦ Ἰορδάνου·

And their boundaries eastward [are] all the salt sea as far as Jordan; and their borders from the north, and from the border of the sea, and from part of Jordan—

6 ἐπιβαίνει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ Βαιθαγλὰ καὶ παραπορεύεται ἀπὸ Βορρᾶ ἐπὶ Βαιθάραβα, καὶ προσαναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ λίθον Βαιὼν υἱοῦ Ρουβήν,

the borders go up to Baethaglaam, and they go along from the north to Baetharaba, and the borders go on up to the stone of Baeon the son of Ruben.

7 καὶ προσαναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ τὸ τέταρτον τῆς φάραγγος Ἀχὼρ καὶ καταβαίνει ἐπὶ Γαλγάλ, ἥ ἐστιν ἀπέναντι τῆς προσβάσεως Ἀδδαμίν, ἥ ἐστι κατὰ λίβα τῇ φάραγγι, καὶ διεκβάλλει ἐπὶ τὸ ὕδωρ πηγῆς τοῦ ἡλίου, καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος πηγὴ Ρωγήλ,

And the borders continue on to the fourth part of the valley of Achor, and go down to Galgal, which is before the approach of Adammin, which is southward in the valley, and terminate at the water of the fountain of the sun; and their going forth shall be the fountain of Rogel.

8 καὶ ἀναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια εἰς φάραγγα Ὀνὸμ ἐπὶ νώτου Ἰεβοῦς ἀπὸ λιβὸς (αὕτη ἐστὶν Ἱερουσαλὴμ) καὶ διεκβάλλει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ κορυφὴν ὄρους, ἥ ἐστι κατὰ πρόσωπον φάραγγος Ὀνὸμ πρὸς θαλάσσης, ἥ ἐστιν ἐκ μέρους γῆς Ραφαΐν ἐπὶ βορρᾶ,

And the borders go up to the valley of Ennom, behind Jebus southward; this is Jerusalem: and the borders terminate at the top of the mountain, which is before the valley of Ennom towards the sea, which is by the side of the land of Raphain northward.

9 καὶ διεκβάλλει τὸ ὅριον ἀπὸ κορυφῆς τοῦ ὄρους ἐπὶ πηγὴν ὕδατος Ναφθὼ καὶ διεκβάλλει εἰς τὸ ὄρος Ἐφρών, καὶ ἄξει τὸ ὅριον εἰς Βαὰλ (αὕτη ἐστὶ πόλις Ἰαρίμ),

And the border [going forth] from the top of the mountain terminates at the fountain of the water of Naphtho, and terminates at mount Ephron; and the border will lead to Baal; this is the city of Jarim.

10 καὶ περιελεύσεται ὅριον ἀπὸ Βαὰλ ἐπὶ θάλασσαν καὶ παρελεύσεται εἰς ὄρος Ἀσσὰρ ἐπὶ νώτου, Πόλιν Ἰαρὶν ἀπὸ βορρᾶ (αὕτη ἐστὶ Χασλὼν) καὶ καταβήσεται ἐπὶ Πόλιν ἡλίου καὶ παρελεύσεται ἐπὶ λίβα,

And the border will go round from Baal to the sea, and will go on to the mount of Assar behind the city of Jarin northwards; this is Chaslon: and it will come down to the city of Sun, and will go on to the south.

11 καὶ διεκβάλλει τὸ ὅριον κατὰ νώτου Ἀκκαρὼν ἐπὶ βορρᾶν, καὶ διεκβαλεῖ τὰ ὅρια εἰς Σοκχὼθ καὶ παρελεύσεται ὅρια ἐπὶ λίβα καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἐπὶ Λεβνά, καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ἐπὶ θάλασσαν. καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἀπὸ θαλάσσης· ἡ θάλασσα ἡ μεγάλη ὁριεῖ.

And the border terminates behind Accaron northward, and the borders will terminate at Socchoth, and the borders will go on to the south, and will terminate at Lebna, and the issue of the borders will be at the sea; and their borders [shall be] towards the sea, the great sea shall be the boundary.

12 ταῦτα τὰ ὅρια υἱῶν Ἰούδα κύκλῳ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν.

These [are] the borders of the children of Juda round about according to their families.

13 καὶ τῷ Χάλεβ υἱῷ Ἰεφονὴ ἔδωκε μερίδα ἐν μέσῳ υἱῶν Ἰούδα διὰ προστάγματος τοῦ Θεοῦ, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πόλιν Ἀρβὸκ μητρόπολιν Ἐνὰκ (αὕτη ἐστὶ Χεβρών).

And to Chaleb the son of Jephone he gave a portion in the midst of the children of Juda by the command of God; and Joshua gave him the city of Arboc the metropolis of Enac; this is Chebron.

14 καὶ ἐξωλόθρευσεν ἐκεῖθεν Χάλεβ υἱὸς Ἰεφονὴ τοὺς τρεῖς υἱοὺς Ἐνάκ, τὸν Σουσὶ καὶ Θολαμὶ καὶ τὸν Ἀχιμᾶ.

And Chaleb the son of Jephone destroyed thence the three sons of Enac, Susi, and Tholami, and Achima.

15 καὶ ἀνέβη ἐκεῖθεν Χάλεβ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Δαβίρ· τὸ δὲ ὄνομα Δαβὶρ ἦν τὸ πρότερον Πόλις γραμμάτων.

And Chaleb went up thence to the inhabitants of Dabir; and the name of Dabir before was the city of Letters.

16 καὶ εἶπε Χάλεβ· ὃς ἐὰν λάβῃ καὶ ἐκκόψῃ τὴν Πόλιν τῶν γραμμάτων καὶ κυριεύσῃ αὐτῆς, δώσω αὐτῷ τὴν Ἀσχὰν θυγατέρα μου εἰς γυναῖκα·

And Chaleb said, Whosoever shall take and destroy the city of Letters, and master it, to him will I give my daughter Ascha to wife.

17 καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν Γοθονιὴλ υἱὸς Κενὲζ ἀδελφὸς Χάλεβ ὁ νεώτερος καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ τὴν Ἀσχὰν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ γυναῖκα.

And Gothoniel the son of Chenez the brother of Chaleb took it; and he gave him Ascha his daughter to wife.

18 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐκπορεύεσθαι αὐτὴν καὶ συνεβουλεύσατο αὐτῷ λέγουσα· αἰτήσομαι τὸν πατέρα μου ἀγρόν· καὶ ἐβόησεν ἐκ τοῦ ὄνου. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Χάλεβ· τί ἐστί σοι;

And it came to pass as she went out that she counselled him, saying, I will ask of my father a field; and she cried from off her ass; and Chaleb said to her, What is it?

19 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· δός μοι εὐλογίαν, ὅτι εἰς γῆν Ναγὲβ δέδωκάς με· δός μοι τὴν Γολαθμαίν. καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῇ Χάλεβ τὴν Γολαθμαὶν τὴν ἄνω καὶ τὴν Γολαθμαὶν τὴν κάτω.

And she said to him, Give me a blessing, for you have set me in the land of Nageb; give me Botthanis: and he gave her Gonaethla the upper, and Gonaethla the lower.

20 αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Ἰούδα.

This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Juda.

21 Ἐγενήθησαν δὲ πόλεις αὐτῶν· πόλις πρώτη φυλῆς υἱῶν Ἰούδα ἐφ' ὁρίων Ἐδὼμ ἐπὶ τῆς ἐρήμου,

And their cities were cities belonging to the tribe of the children of Juda on the borders of Edom by the wilderness, and Baeseleel, and Ara, and Asor,

22 καὶ Βαισελεὴλ καὶ Ἀρὰ καὶ Ἀσὼρ καὶ Ἰκὰμ καὶ Ρεγμὰ καὶ Ἀρουὴλ

and Icam, and Regma, and Aruel,

23 καὶ Κάδης καὶ Ἀσοριωναὶν καὶ Μαινὰμ

and Cades, and Asorionain, and Maenam,

24 καὶ Βαλμαινὰν καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν

and Balmaenan, and their villages,

25 καὶ αἱ πόλεις Ἀσερὼν (αὕτη Ἀσὼρ)

and the cities of Aseron, this [is] Asor,

26 καὶ Σὴν καὶ Σαλμαὰ καὶ Μωλαδᾶ

and Sen, and Salmaa, and Molada,

27 καὶ Σερὶ καὶ Βαιφαλὰδ

and Seri, and Baephalath,

28 καὶ Χολασεωλὰ καὶ Βηρσαβεὲ καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῶν,

and Cholaseola, and Beersabee; and their villages, and their hamlets,

29 Βαλὰ καὶ Βακὼκ καὶ Ἀσὸμ

Bala and Bacoc, and Asom,

30 καὶ Ἐλβωϋδὰδ καὶ Βαιθὴλ καὶ Ἑρμᾶ

and Elboudad, and Baethel, and Herma,

31 καὶ Σεκελὰκ καὶ Μαχαρὶμ καὶ Σεθεννὰκ

and Sekelac, and Macharim, and Sethennac,

32 καὶ Λαβὼς καὶ Σαλὴ καὶ Ἐρωμώθ, πόλεις εἰκοσιεννέα, καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν.

and Labos, and Sale, and Eromoth; twenty-nine cities, and their villages.

33 ἐν τῇ πεδινῇ· Ἀσταὼλ καὶ Ράα καὶ Ἄσσα

In the plain country Astaol, and Raa, and Assa,

34 καὶ Ράμεν καὶ Τανὼ καὶ Ἰλουθὼθ καὶ Μαιανὶ

and Ramen, and Tano, and Iluthoth, and Maeani,

35 καὶ Ἱερμοὺθ καὶ Ὀδολλὰμ καὶ Μεμβρὰ καὶ Σαωχὼ καὶ Ἀζηκὰ

and Jermuth, and Odollam, and Membra, and Saocho, and Jazeca.

36 καὶ Σακαρὶμ καὶ Γάδηρα καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῆς, πόλεις δεκατέσσαρες καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν·

And Sacarim and Gadera, and its villages; fourteen cities, and their villages;

37 Σεννὰ καὶ Ἀδασὰν καὶ Μαγαδαλγὰδ

Senna, and Adasan, and Magadalgad,

38 καὶ Δαλὰλ καὶ Μασφὰ καὶ Ἰαχαρεὴλ καὶ Λαχὶς

and Dalad, and Maspha, and Jachareel,

39 καὶ Βασηδὼθ καὶ Ἰδεαδαλέα

and Basedoth, and Ideadalea;

40 καὶ Χαβρὰ καὶ Μαχὲς καὶ Μααχὼς

and Chabra, and Maches, and Maachos,

41 καὶ Γεδδὼρ καὶ Βαγαδιὴλ καὶ Νωμὰν καὶ Μαχηδάν, πόλεις ἑκκαίδεκα καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν·

and Geddor, and Bagadiel, and Noman, and Machedan: sixteen cities, and their villages;

42 Λεβνὰ καὶ Ἰθὰκ καὶ Ἀνὼχ

Lebna, and Ithac, and Anoch,

43 καὶ Ἰανὰ καὶ Νασὶβ

and Jana, and Nasib,

44 καὶ Κεϊλὰμ καὶ Ἀκιεζὶ καὶ Κεζὶβ καὶ Βαθησὰρ καὶ Αἰλώμ, πόλεις δέκα καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν·

and Keilam, and Akiezi, and Kezib, and Bathesar, and Aelom: ten cities, and their villages;

45 Ἀκκαρὼν καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῆς καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῶν·

Accaron and her villages, and their hamlets:

46 ἀπὸ Ἀκκαρὼν Γεμνὰ καὶ πᾶσαι, ὅσαι εἰσὶ πλησίον Ἀσηδώθ, καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν·

from Accaron, Gemna, and all the cities that are near Asedoth; and their villages.

47 Ἀσιεδὼθ καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῆς καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῆς· Γάζα καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῆς καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῆς ἕως τοῦ χειμάρρου Αἰγύπτου· καὶ ἡ θάλασσα ἡ μεγάλη διορίζει.

Asiedoth, and her villages, and her hamlets; Gaza, and its villages and its hamlets as far as the river of Egypt, and the great sea is the boundary.

48 καὶ ἐν τῇ ὀρεινῇ· Σαμὶρ καὶ Ἰεθὲρ καὶ Σωχὰ

And in the hill country Samir, and Jether, and Socha,

49 καὶ Ρεννὰ καὶ Πόλις γραμμάτων (αὕτη Δαβὶρ)

and Renna and the city of Letters, this [is] Dabir;

50 καὶ Ἀνὼν καὶ Ἐσκαιμὰν καὶ Αἰσὰμ

and Anon, and Es, and Man, and Aesam,

51 καὶ Γοσὸμ καὶ Χαλοὺ καὶ Χαννά, πόλεις ἕνδεκα καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν·

and Gosom, and Chalu, and Channa, and Gelom: eleven cities, and their villages;

52 Αἰρὲμ καὶ Ρεμνὰ καὶ Σομὰ

Aerem, and Remna, and Soma,

53 καὶ Ἰεμαΐν καὶ Βαιθαχοὺ καὶ Φακουὰ

and Jemain, and Baethachu, and Phacua,

54 καὶ Εὐμὰ καὶ πόλις Ἀρβὸκ (αὕτη ἐστὶ Χεβρὼν) καὶ Σωραίθ, πόλεις ἐννέα καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῶν·

and Euma, and the city Arboc, this is Chebron, and Soraith: nine cities and their villages:

55 Μαὼρ καὶ Χερμὲλ καὶ Ὀζὶβ καὶ Ἰτὰν

Maor, and Chermel, and Ozib, and Itan,

56 καὶ Ἰαριὴλ καὶ Ἀρικὰμ καὶ Ζακαναΐμ

and Jariel, and Aricam, and Zacanaim,

57 καὶ Γαβαὰ καὶ Θαμναθά, πόλεις ἐννέα καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν·

and Gabaa, and Thamnatha; nine cities, and their villages;

58 Ἀλουὰ καὶ Βαιθσοὺρ καὶ Γεδδὼν

Aelua, and Bethsur, and Geddon,

59 καὶ Μαγαρὼθ καὶ Βαιθανὰμ καὶ Θεκούμ, πόλεις ἓξ καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν· Θεκὼ καὶ Ἐφραθὰ (αὕτη ἐστὶ Βηθλεὲμ) καὶ Φαγὼρ καὶ Αἰτὰν καὶ Κουλὸν καὶ Τατὰμ καὶ Θωβὴς καὶ Καρὲμ καὶ Γαλὲμ καὶ Θεθὴρ καὶ Μανοχώ, πόλεις ἕνδεκα καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν·

and Magaroth, and Baethanam, and Thecum; six cities, and their villages; Theco, and Ephratha, this is Baethleem, and Phagor, and Aetan, and Culon, and Tatam, and Thobes, and Carem, and Galem, and Thether, and Manocho: eleven cities, and their villages,

60 Καριαθβαὰλ (αὕτη ἡ πόλις Ἰαρὶμ) καὶ Σωθηβᾶ, πόλεις δύο καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῶν

Cariathbaal, this [is] the city of Jarim, and Sotheba: two cities, and their villages:

61 καὶ Βαδδαργεὶς καὶ Θαραβαὰμ καὶ Αἰνὼν

and Baddargeis, and Tharabaam, and Aenon;

62 καὶ Αἰχιοζὰ καὶ Ναφλαζὼν καὶ αἱ πόλεις Σαδὼν καὶ Ἀγκάδης, πόλεις ἑπτὰ καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν.

and Aeochioza, and Naphlazon, and the cities of Sadon, and Ancades; seven cities, and their villages.

63 καὶ ὁ Ἰεβουσαῖος κατῴκει ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνάσθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰούδα ἀπολέσαι αὐτούς· καὶ κατῴκησαν οἱ Ἰεβουσαῖοι ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης.

And the Jebusite lived in Jerusalem, and the children of Juda could not destroy them; and the Jebusites lived in Jerusalem to this day.
