Canon 79 The possessed may not become clerics

If anyone has a demon, let him not become a cleric, nor even pray with the faithful; but when he has been cleansed, let him be received, and, if he is worthy, let him become one.

Ἐάν τις δαίμονα ἔχῃ, κληρικὸς μὴ γινέσθω, ἀλλὰ μηδὲ τοῖς πιστοῖς συνευχέσθω· καθαρισθεὶς δέ, προσδεχέσθω, καί, ἐὰν ᾖ ἄξιος, γινέσθω.
