St. Maria of Paris

20th-century nun and confessor who united liturgical life with radical mercy to the poor and displaced in Paris. During World War II, she helped shelter Jews and resistance members and later died in Ravensbruck concentration camp. Canonized as a martyr of love and diakonia. Feast: July 20.
