St. Charalambos the Hieromartyr

A priest of Magnesia in Asia Minor who, by the tradition of the Church, was more than a hundred years old when he was tortured and put to death under Septimius Severus around 202 for refusing to stop preaching. He is prayed to against plague and epidemic. His skull is kept at the monastery of St Stephen at the Meteora, and churches dedicated to him are found in almost every Greek town. Feast: February 10.
