Pilgrimage (Proskynema)

Traveling to holy sites for prayer, veneration, and spiritual renewal. Major Orthodox pilgrimage sites: Jerusalem and the Holy Land, Mount Athos, Mount Sinai, Tinos (Megalochari icon), Patmos (cave of the Apocalypse), Kiev Caves Lavra, Sergiev Posad, and numerous local shrines. Pilgrimage is both physical and spiritual: an outer journey mirroring the inner journey toward God.
