Prayer Rope (Komboskini/Chotki)

A knotted rope (usually 33, 50, 100, or 300 knots) used to count repetitions of the Jesus Prayer or other short prayers. Made with complex knots containing small crosses. Monks and laity use it for daily prayer rule. The Orthodox equivalent of a rosary but predates it historically.
