Celebrated on December 25 (January 7 on Old Calendar). The feast of God's becoming man: the Incarnation. Preceded by the 40-day Nativity Fast. The troparion: 'Thy Nativity, O Christ our God, has shone upon the world the light of knowledge.' Paramone (Christmas Eve) features the Royal Hours and Vesperal Liturgy.
