Soteriology (Salvation)

Orthodox soteriology is therapeutic rather than juridical. Salvation is healing from the disease of sin and death, restoration of communion with God, and ultimately theosis. Christ's death and resurrection conquered death itself. Salvation is understood as Christus Victor (Christ the Conqueror) and recapitulation (anakephalaiosis).
