The Holy Canons The readings
The readings
213 places where the transcription of the Pedalion was corrected before it was printed here, each with the reason, and 9 where the reading is still open.
The Greek on these pages is the Pedalion as transcribed by Nektarios Mamalougos at users.uoa.gr/~nektar, a transcription that Greek Wikisource carries too, with the same misprints. Reading each canon for its plain sense turned up letters the transcription had confused (ο for σ is the commonest, ν for υ and ε for ς after it), words that exist nowhere else in the corpus with a neighbour one letter away that does, and a few places where the printed Pedalion itself differs. Each correction below names what the transcription printed, what is read here, and why. Where the evidence does not settle a reading, the transcription is printed as it stands and the doubt is recorded at the end.
